News on life in beautiful Serbia...
can't believe the summer break is almost over! What?!;
the World Cup is over, Serbian squad did embarrassing again. I was weary with my groaning, all night I made my bed swim, I drenched my couch with tears. My heart was broken;
I spent my summer like planned in Serbia - I was serving in Calvary Chapel of Subotica. Great, relaxing time with friends, leading worship, teaching youth Bible studies, playing soccer, eating burek and learning at Lord's feet;
being in a new city was quite challenging at the beginning. Being my own boss with what I do with my time was even more challenging considering the level of maturity I'm on. But Lord totally spoke to me through the words of David and taught me to ''number my days so I may gain a heart of wisdom'' (Psalm 90:12);
looking back I can see Lord using me in many random ways, but even more import, I can see Lord shaping me into more of Him and less of me this summer. Likewise, burek shaped my body so I gained 10 lbs;
In June I got to make a trip down to Uzice (south Serbia) to visit friends! I was so encouraged by their faithfulness and perseverance. We got to talk about the ministry going on, pray for the city, and go to an orphanage for the afternoon. Pray for them! Their names are Chris and Mirjam!;
I also made a trip to Topola in July for a weekend conference. Some life changing Bible studies and sweet fellowship;
Lord totally used soccer as my tool to reach out! Soccer is pretty much a religion in Serbia. I was randomly going to my neighborhood or nearby lake to play soccer. It was such a great way to meet people, and of course shine with Jesus on the court;
I also got to go to Belgrade every other Friday for the Bible study that my pastor from Subotica is teaching! Lord opened the doors for us to have a Bible study in Belgrade every Friday starting in August!!! Whaaaaat!!!;
currently I'm getting ready to leave Subotica in two weeks and head home for a week before my last semester at Bible College starts! Everything about it makes me so excited!;
Things yet to come...
I'm gonna be heading home for a week in August. I hope to be a light to my unsaved dad;
Bible College starts in September! Lord willing I'll be graduating in December! What, what! Crazy stuff...;
Jesus is coming soon... I just felt like putting that in ''things yet to come'' section. It felt right.;
Prayer request...
Pray for SERBIA! ''The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death upon them a light has shined'' (Isaiah 9:2) – this is my prayer for Serbia;
Pray for UZICE! South Serbia is painfully unreached, it needs your prayers, so do the laborers;
Provision for Bible College;
Joj Užice! Živeo sam tamo godinu dana pre 20 godina. Istina, treba im Isus.
